The Reeths-Puffer volleyball team had a great bounce back on Saturday after a tough week of action, finishing second the West Ottawa invite.

In opening pool play, the Rockets fell in a tight match to East Grand Rapids with scores of 21-25 and 18-25. They followed up with a victory against Sparta at 25-16 and 25-21.

Proceeding on to power pool play, Reeths-Puffer took down both Gull Lake and Kalamazoo Central with scores of 26-24, 24-26, 15-11 and 25-16, 25-21 respectively.

The Rockets got tripped up against West Ottawa in their opener for the Gold bracket with set scores of 21-25 and 18-25. Reeths-Puffer turned earned a win in its next match against Allendale with scores of 25-21 and 25-19.

Brianna Stawski led for Reeths-Puffer with 66 kills, 29 digs, ten blocks and eight aces. Sophia Hekkemma had 24 kills, 21 digs and five aces. Tessa Lamphere made 12 kills, 32 digs and four blocks. Billie Tryska contributed ten kills, 15 digs and seven aces.

Reeths-Puffer is now 8-11 going into their next competition at Mona Shores on Tuesday.
