The Oakridge boys basketball team put away Fruitport 50-47 on Tuesday after a second half run that almost put the Trojans in the driver seat.

The Eagles commanded the first half with a 30-19 lead.

Coming out of halftime, the Trojans began to put things together and chiseled away at their deficit to 39-35 after three quarters of action.

Oakridge continued fighting to hold off the Trojans in the fourth quarter and despite letting the lead get down to two points, the Eagles stood strong and snagged the victory.

Going off for the Eagles was Ethan Jozsa with game-high 29 points and 11 rebounds. Also contributing was Garrett Wever with eight points and six assists while Peyton Ruel posted three steals.

Andrew Spyke and Bode Anspach led for Fruitport with 16 points and 14 points, respectively. Ryan Laus and Paschal Jolman each chipped in five points.

Oakridge will visit Montague on Friday for their first WMC matchup of the season while Fruitport will travel just down the road on Friday to square off with Fruiport Calvary Christian.
