The Spring Lake girls basketball team used a stifling defense and solid offense to down Hudsonville Unity Christian, 53-35 on Friday night.

Jumping out to a slight lead early, the Lakers pulled ahead 11-7 after the first quarter and cruised through the second quarter to go up 22-16 at the half.

The Lakers came out of half time fired up and outscored the Eagles 20-9 in the third quarter.

Nothing could slow down the Lakers as they slid through the final quarter outscoring Unity Christian 11-10 to wrap up the night.

Jennifer Judge came through with another double-double on the season with 15 points, 11 rebounds, three assists and three blocks while Alexa Carter added nine points and five rebounds.

Also throwing in for the Lakers, Emma Nicles scored eight points while Meah Bajt pulled down eight rebounds, scored seven points and made six assists.

Spring Lake rises to 7-3 with a 4-1 record in the O-K Blue and the Lakers are set to host Hamilton on Tuesday to continue league action.
