The Fruitport Calvary Christian boys basketball team was looking for a redemption game after their tough loss to Holton on Monday evening and that’s exactly what they got when they took on Holland Black River on Tuesday.

The Eagles crushed Black River, 79-47 as Bradley Richards and Jacob May each recorded a double-double on the night.

Fruitport Calvary immediately took control of the action, snapping off a massive 32-9 scoring run in just the opening quarter. The lead grew even further as they went into the locker room at halftime with a commanding 53-19 lead.

The Eagles cruised through the third quarter, dominating on both sides of the court as they ran to a 62-22 lead to start the fourth.

Richards put up 27 points and 18 rebounds while May added 18 points and 10 assists.

Also sharing in the effort was Luka Assaad with five steals and five assists while Josiah Jackson snagged six steals.

Fruitport Calvary climbs to 9-3 and will visit state-ranked Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian on Friday for a crucial Alliance League showdown.
