Fruitport girls suffer lopsided loss to GR West Catholic on Tuesday

Tuesday night was not the night for the Fruitport girls basketball team as they fell 97-19 to the No. 2 ranked team in Division 2, Grand Rapids West Catholic.

The Trojans understandably struggled right off the tip as West Catholic quickly established the pace and ran away with the win.

Fruitport’s Sadie Norwood scored five points while Ashton Olson added four points and Anna Bol threw in three points. Olive Staal and Mikayla Belasco each contributed a basket apiece in the loss.

Fruitport slumps to 1-18 with a 1-13 record in the O-K Blue and next travels to take on Allendale on Friday for a conference tilt.
