MUSKEGON—On Tuesday evening during halftime of the Muskegon vs. Reeths-Puffer boys varsity basketball game the Rockets held a brief ceremony naming the Arena at Reeths-Puffer High School, the “Dan Beckeman Arena.” The placard that bears Dan’s name reads as follows, “In recognition of decades of dedication, commitment, and support of Rocket City and Reeths-Puffer students.”

Dan’s service to our students, district, and community at-large is unparalleled,” said Reeths-Puffer Athletic Director Cliff Sandee.

In his 31 years of commitment to Reeths-Puffer, Dan cheered on The Rockets in excess of 2,000 games in this arena. Students and family members from several generations often share stories of how supported Mr. Beckeman made them feel; always with a firm handshake, eye contact, a warm smile, and often reminiscing about a big game, shot, or play that they were involved in while competing in this very arena,” Sandee said.
