HOLLAND — Grand Haven’s baseball team traveled to Holland for a doubleheader with West Ottawa and was swept in the twin bill, 3-2 and 10-9 on Tuesday.

In the opener it was a scoreless game for the first three innings before West Ottawa took a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Buccaneers came back with two runs in the top of the fifth and went ahead 2-1, but then West Ottawa scored the game-winner in the bottom of the sixth and added one more in the seventh.

Leading hitters for the Bucs included Ty Sandwick who was 2-for-4 with two RBI and Braden Rademaker who was 2-for-3. Trenton Caswell had the other hit for Grand Haven.

Evan Duvall took the loss pitching relief and gave up a run on one hit. Nick Wilson started the game on the hill for the Bucs and gave up two runs on four hits, walking three and striking out five over six innings.

In the nightcap Sandwick had two hits in four at-bats with two RBI. Rademaker and Xavier Rodriguez each had two hits as well. Caswell and Duvall each had a hit.
