WHITE CLOUD — Jacee Hoffman pitched a perfect game on Friday to lead the Kent City girls softball team past White Cloud, 12-0 in the first game of a Central States Activities Conference doubleheader on the road.

Hoffman struck out a whopping 18 batters while not allowing a single runner to reach base, and Kaila Krueger provided all the offense needed by driving in four runs.

Krueger finished the game 2-for-3 at the plate with two runs scored. Hoffman contributed to her own cause with one hit, two RBI and three runs scored.

Abbigal Pecynski was 2-for-4 with two RBI while Savannah Miller went 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored.

The Eagles completed the sweep with a 20-1 victory in the nightcap.

Hoffman shined at the plate in Game two, finishing the game with four hits with a double, four RBI and two runs scored. Lexie Bowers, Krueger and Ava Wright also contributed hits. Wright had three RBI.

Jade Mortensen and Krueger each drove in a run.

Sophia Reed pitched the first three innings for the Eagles and gave up just one hit, walked two and struck out two. Cailynn Hartzell finished the game and gave up the one run on two hits, struck out two and walked two in two innings.
