Western Michigan Christian vs. Orchard View Girls Soccer

MUSKEGON –The Western Michigan Christian girls soccer team ran away with another Lakes 8 Conference win after getting by Orchard View by a score of 3-1 on Wednesday evening.

It was a balanced scoring effort by the Warriors. Sydney Betten, Brooklyn Watts and Ally Oppenhuizen each netted a goal, while Emily Matz added an assist.

The Warriors opened up with a plenty of scoring opportunities but sent many of the shots directly at the keeper.

If we could’ve finished at least 50% of our chances today, it would have been a different scoreline,” said WMC Coach, Debbie Pekel. “We did a better job creating opportunities to get to the goal, but now we have to put them in the back of the net.”

Nadia Burr and Chloe Nadeau made great plays defensively for WMC, despite the Cardinals pushing more players into the attack to try and open up the field.

WMC (4-4-2, 3-0-1) will travel to Grandville Calvin Christian on Friday.

OV (4-3, 1-2) will be at home on Friday to take on Grand Rapids Covenant Christian.
