SPRING LAKE — Spring Lake’s girls softball team swept a non-conference doubleheader with Saugatuck, 11-1 and 12-1 at home Thursday afternoon.

In the first game Avery Flynn earned the win in the pitcher’s circle, giving up four hits and one walk while racking up 10 strike outs.

She also paced the Lakers at the plate, going 4-for-4 with a home run. Tegan Rose was 2-for-2 with two walks.

Emily Batka pitched the nightcap for the Lakers and scattered five hits and did not issue a walk while striking out four.

Kendra Kieft was the leading hitter for the Lakers, going 3-for-4. Alexa Carter finished 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. Alena Martin was 1-for-1 with a walk.

Spring Lake improved to 12-4 overall.
