Three local girls soccer teams won their respective districts Friday evening and are headed to regional action starting Tuesday night.

Newaygo, North Muskegon and Spring Lake all face tough foes in regional semifinal action.

Newaygo (16-3-1) heads to Big Rapids Tuesday to take on the Elk Rapids Elks. The Lions advanced on Friday after shutting out Orchard View 1-0. The Elks defeated Boyne City 6-0 on Thursday to claim their district championship.

Elk Rapids sports a 16-2 record. The Elks went undefeated (10-0) in the Lake Michigan Conference.

Game time is set for 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Big Rapids High School.

North Muskegon, (15-3-1) which shut out Western Michigan Christian 2-0 to advance to the regionals, will face Grand Rapids Covenant Christian. The Chargers are not affiliated with any conference. Covenant Christian got by Grand Rapids Northpointe Christian 3-2 to advance to the regionals. They will bring an overall record of 9-8-1 into the contest.

The teams will venture north where this semifinal regional game will be played at Rotary Field (CASA Fields) in Cadillac. Game time is 7 p.m. Tuesday.

The Spring Lake Lakers (16-2-1) will head into the regionals, fresh off a 7-1 district championship win over Whitehall.

The Lakers will face the Cadillac Vikings, who come in with a 16-3-4 record. Cadillac advanced to the regionals by defeating Petoskey 3-0. Cadillac is from the Big North Conference.

Their regional semifinal game will be played at Red Hawk Stadium in Cedar Springs. Game time is set for 5 p.m.
