ZEELAND –A second-half resurgence wasn’t enough for the Reeths-Puffer boys soccer team to overtake Zeeland East in the first round of the OK Conference-Green tournament on Tuesday evening.

The Rockets rallied but fell short by a score of 4-3.

Reeths-Puffer was down 4-0 with 35 minutes left to play before kicking it in gear to make up some ground.

Conner Mammen led the way for the Rockets with a pair of goals, while Liam Smith netted his 20th goal of the season.

Goalkeeper Gage Hopkins made 10 solid saves on the evening.

Reeths-Puffer (6-8-2, 2-5-1) will travel to Zeeland West on Thursday.
