NEWAYGO–The Newaygo Lions came up a little short on Friday evening in a 32-19 loss to Chippewa Hills.
 
The CSAA-Gold game was played at Newaygo.
 
Grant Harkness completed 13-of-18 for 219 yards and two touchdown passes. Harkness also added a touchdown run early in the game from 2 yards out.
 
Josiah Long caught a touchdown pass from 65 yards while while Dyllan Bazzett had four catches for 83 yards and a score. Blake Kerr also added three catches for 63 yards.
 
Defensively, Aaron Garza led the way with 11 tackles while Bazzett had 10. 
 
Newaygo (2-5 overall, 1-4 in league play) will travel to Central Montcalm next Friday.
