FRUITPORT –The Holton girls basketball team quickly shook off the off-season rust and got by Fruitport Calvary Christian on Tuesday evening.

The Red Devils won, 48-34.

A rough first quarter put Holton behind 14-9 before finding a rhythm to pull past the Eagles by halftime.

The Red Devils opened the second half with a 21-20 lead and never looked back.

Ryann Robbins led the pack with a double-double of 18 points and 10 rebounds. 

Courtney Boes followed with 12 points, six rebounds and five steals, while Abby Fowler added seven rebounds, six points and four steals. Layla Cannady also got in on the action with six points and four rebounds.

Holton (1-0) will open WMC-Rivers play on Friday at Ravenna.

Calvary Christian (0-1) travels to Fruitport on Tuesday.
