The Western Michigan Christian girls’ basketball team struggled on the road Wednesday night.

The Warriors (1-1) travelled to Kalamazoo Christian (1-0) and fell, 49-25, in a non-league matchup.

WMC struggled from the floor all game, hitting just three field goals in the first half and trailing 23-12 after the first 16 minutes.

Kalamazoo Christian ran away with the contest in the third quarter, building a 40-17 lead.

Tressa Arkema led WMC with seven points and nine rebounds while Ashley Folkema had five points, seven rebounds and five blocks. Kate Derdowski scored five points and had seven rebounds.

Kalamazoo Christian was led by Jordyn Bonnema with 11 points while Aubrey Herder, Makena Ekkens and Alli Pschigoda had eight points apiece.
