HOLTON — Mason County Central’s boys basketball team jumped out to a 13-point lead at the end of the first quarter and rolled on for a 52-30 victory at Holton on Thursday night in the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division.

 
The Spartans outscored the Red Devils, 13-7 in the second period and went into the halftime break holding a commanding 35-16 advantage.
 
It continued along the same lines in the second half, with the Spartans maintaining their dominance over the Red Devils with a 12-10 edge in the third for a 47-26 lead going into the fourth quarter.
 
Will Chye scorched the Red Devils for 31 points, while Jayden Perrone finished with nine.
 
Carter Brant led the Red Devils with 13 points, followed by Brodrick Fialek with seven points and six rebounds while Nathan Paseka ended up with six points.
 
The Spartans improved to 3-0 overall and 2-0 in the WMC Rivers and will next be in action when they host Kingsley in a non-conference game next Tuesday.
 
Holton lost its fourth straight game and is 0-1 in the conference, with the Red Devils scheduled to take the court again at Hesperia next Tuesday in another conference game.
