MUSKEGON — The visiting Whitehall Vikings placed five players in double figures and defeated Orchard View, 71-48, on Friday night.

Whitehall raced out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter. The Cardinals evened things up in the middle two quarters with a 31-30 advantage, but in the fourth quarter, Whitehall outscored Orchard View, 26-11.

The Vikings scored 21 points from the free-throw line, although they shot 41 from the line for 51 percent. The Cardinals committed 28 fouls. OV also had 23 turnovers.

Trannon Aylor led Whitehall with 17 points, 13 rebounds and four steals. Jack Houtteman added 13 points and Ca’Mar Ready had 11 points, 10 rebounds and four assists. DJ Jamison also hit double figures with 11 points and seven rebounds. Kyle Stratton had 10 points.

In all, Whitehall had 41 rebounds, including 23 on the offensive end. The Vikings also had 14 steals.

Whitehall (8-4-5-1) will travel to Western Michigan Christian on Tuesday evening.

Orchard View (2-9, 1-6) will travel to Mason County Central on Wednesday evening.
