HOLTON — The visiting Shelby Tigers gradually built a lead over four quarters and defeated the host Holton Red Devils 63-33 on Monday night.
 
Shelby led by five after one quarter and built the advantage to 13 points at the half. The Tigers (10-11, 4-7) outscored Holton 31-14 in the second half.
 
Wyatt Dickman and Bishop Lee scored 12 points each to pace Shelby. Carson Claeys also reached double figures with 10 points. Phillip Hayes added nine. Lee finished with nine rebounds while Dickman grabbed six boards. Mason Garcia led Shelby with eight assists and he also pulled down six rebounds. Hayes and Claeys each dished out four assists.
 
Holton (1-20, 1-9) was led by Carter Brant with 13 points and Keon McMillan with eight.
 
“We didn’t play particularly well on either side of the ball tonight,” Holton coach Keith Swanson said. “I thought Shelby’s length and physicality were a couple things that stuck out that gave us problems.”
 
Shelby will travel to Mason County Central on Tuesday.
 
Holton will take on North Muskegon on Tuesday evening at North Muskegon.
