LUDINGTON — Dylan Sniegowski, Owen Kasley and Ignacio Molina each earned two individual first places and swam on two winning relay teams to help lead the Ludington boys swimming and diving squad past Fremont, 126-50 in a Coastal Conference match at home Thursday night.

It made for a very special night for the Orioles, who were celebrating Senior Night and Parents Night at Donald C. Baldwin Community Pool in Ludington.

“After peak week last week, the boys are swimming very well,” said Orioles head coach Joe Schneider. “We had some boys swim some events they haven’t yet this season, and they all did very well.

“The seniors got to pick what events they wanted to do, and Lucas Peterson jumped up on the board again after not diving since freshman year and finished off with a cannonball.”

Sniegowski won the 200-yard individual medley with a time of 2:25.53 and the 100 butterfly (1:05.17) and was on the first place 200 freestyle relay with Peterson, Owen Kasley and Ignacio Molina (1:39.97) as well as the 400 freestyle relay with Kyle Wendt, Rowen Vaara and Molina (3:45.68).

Molina also had two first individual first places for the Orioles, winning the 200 freestyle (2:00.14) and 50 freestyle (23.88), and Kasley picked up wins in the 100 freestyle (57.47) and the 100 backstroke (1:09.15).

Vaara won the 500 freestyle (5:53.45) and Gavin Smith touched the ball first in the 100 breaststroke (1:18.92).

Ludington returns to the pool Thursday for another conference meet at Manistee.
