SCOTTVILLE — Shelby extended its winning streak to five games Tuesday night with a 54-44 road victory over Mason County Central in the West Michigan Conference Rivers Division.

It was the Spartans third straight loss.
 
The Tigers broke away from a tight 14-13 first quarter with a 17-5 advantage in the second and built a 31-18 lead at the half.
 
Central made a move in the third quarter by outscoring the Tigers, 16-15, but that only shaved one point off Shelby’s lead. The Spartans had a 10-8 edge in the fourth quarter, but it was not enough.
 
Bishop Lee had a big game for the Tigers, firing in 19 points, hauling down nine rebounds and dishing out three assists. Mason Garcia added 12 points, five rebounds and dished out seven assists. Phillips Hayes contributed 10 points, grabbed six rebounds, had three blocks and two steals. Wyatt Dickman finished with eight points.
 
Will Chye had 20 points for the Spartans. He also had five rebounds.
 
Shelby ended the regular season 11-11 overall, 5-7 in the conference.
 
Mason County Central (14-7, 7-4 WMC Rivers) travels to Hesperia for a conference game Monday in its regular-season finale.
