WHITE CLOUD — The White Cloud Indians battled back from a late deficit on Tuesday and defeated Ravenna, 13-12, in the first game.

In the second game, shortened to three innings, the Indians posted a 2-0 victory and a sweep of the non-league twinbill.

In the opener, with the game knotted at 12-all in the bottom of the seventh inning, Alex Cruzan led off by getting hit by a pitch. Reece Hewitt then walked. Landyn McGowen then blasted a long fly ball to deep leftfield that plated Cruzan with the winning run.

White Cloud’s offense scored five runs in the second inning and four more in the third for a 10-1 lead.

Ravenna battled back with six runs in the sixth and narrowed the score to 10-7.

After White Cloud plated two runs in the fifth on a hit batter and a bases loaded walk, the Indians owned a 12-7 lead.
In the top half of the seventh, Ravenna scored five runs to tie the game.

Mason Ruether picked up the win on the mound with 4 1/3 innings of work. He allowed five runs on three hits. He struck out four.

In the nightcap, the Indians pushed across a run on a groundout by Mason Cruzan. Alex Cruzan then plated Mason Ruether with an RBI single for the game’s final run.

The Bulldogs’ offense was shut down for three innings by Alex Cruzan, who faced only 10 batters in the 3 innings. He allowed no hits, gave up one walk and posted three strikeouts.

White Cloud (4-0) is off until after spring break.
