HART — Bouncing back from a close loss to Whitehall on Thursday, the Hart girls soccer team cruised to a lopsided 10-0 non-conference win over Benzie Central Friday.

Eight different Pirates got into the scoring column, with senior Sandy Salgado, senior Julia Geiner and sophomore Brooklyn Porter each finding the back of the net twice to lead the Pirates attack.

Sophomore Devyn Adams tallied the first goal for the Pirates four minutes into the game, and four minutes later senior Sandy Salgado buried a shot after a nifty cross from sophomore Brianna Adams.

With 30 minutes left in the first half the Pirates pushed their lead to 4-0 when Cris Rangel gathered in a loose ball that rolled to her feet from 25 yards out and she sent a hard shot into the opposite side of the net.

Less than a minute later, senior Julia Greiner broke down the right side and put a cross in for Salgado and she collected her second goal of the night.

Greiner sent another cross to sophomore Porter who scored her second goal of the season.

Sophomore Brooklyn Sims drilled a shot into the back of the net off a rebound with 24 minutes remaining in the half.

The Pirates’ next scoring chance came on a penalty kick after the Huskies were called for a handball, and Sydney Goodrich celebrated her birthday by knocking in the shot.

Freshman goalkeeper Emma Jeffries earned her first varsity start. The Huskies had just one scoring chance.

Hart is back home Monday for a West Michigan Conference game against Oakridge.
