WHITE CLOUD — The Kent City Eagles used solid hitting and the pitching of Jacee Hoffman to sweep White Cloud in a softball doubleheader on Friday.

Kent City won the opener, 13-3 and the nightcap 12-0.

Hoffman pitched seven innings in the opener and allowed three runs and struck out 13.

Laynee Hoffman led the way with four hits for the Eagles. Abby Pecynski had three hits, one a double, and four RBI. Hannah Stellini and Lylah Larson each had two hits and two RBI. Savannah Miller and Lexie Bowers also had two hits.

In the nightcap, Hoffman allowed just one hit.

The Eagles broke open the game in the top of the seventh inning by scoring eight runs.

Jade Mortensen led the Eagles’ offense with three hits and three RBI. Bowers added two hits and Stellini had two RBI.
