NORTH MUSKEGON — North Muskegon swept a West Michigan Conference Rivers Division doubleheader from visiting Shelby on Tuesday, 15-4 and 11-1.

In the opener, Bronson Hurst was the winning pitcher, scattering four hits, walking five and striking out 10 over five innings.

Leading the hitting attack for the Norsemen were John Caliendo, who had four RBI on two hits, followed by Sam Gallo, who had two doubles, two RBI and two runs scored.

Ben Meyers had a triple and a double with two RBI and three runs scored and Denny Belmonte had two hits with a triple, one RBI and two runs scored.
 
Kylan Nielsen picked up the win in the nightcap on a masterful one-hitter with three strikeouts over five innings.

Belmonte led the Norsemen at the plate with two hits, two RBI and one run scored, Meyers had a double with two RBI and one run scored. TJ Byard had one hit, two RBI and one run scored and Gallo had one hit with two RBI and one run scored.

North Muskegon improved to 22-5 on the season and is scheduled to host Oakridge in another conference doubleheader Friday.

Shelby hosts Newaygo in a non-conference game Monday.
