FREMONT – The Fremont Packers’ golf team will go down as the winner of the first-ever Newaygo County Girls Golf Invitational.

The invitational was played at Waters Edge Golf Course.

Fremont shot a season-low 373 and is the lowest by a Fremont team in at least 7 years.

Leading the way for the Packers was Lauren Roossinck, the individual medalist. She shot a personal-best 87. Lilly Schwartz came in with a 91 and Amelia Foster shot a 97. Lena Hudson finished at 98.

Other Fremont golfers included Autumn Dickson with a 108 and Gabi Folkema finished ninth.

Newaygo’s Abygail Lauryssens finished fifth and Sydnee Kirk was sixth.
