FRUITPORT – The Fruitport boys soccer team blanked Grand Rapids Covenant Christian 5-0 on Tuesday evening in non-league action.
“I was really proud of the boys’ unselfishness and work rate tonight,” said Trojan coach Dan Hazekamp. “Everyone on our roster played with great passion, which allowed us to get a good result against a solid team.”
Jorge Burgos-Yack led the scoring with a three-goal hat trick while Brady Brown and Braylon Marshall netted one goal each.
Elijah Aldridge was credited for his strong defensive effort by Coach Hazekamp.
Goalkeeper Logan Werschem posted the shutout with 10 saves.
Fruitport (11-2-2, 4-2-1) hosts Montague on Thursday.
