HART – Hart volleyball survived a few close sets with Holton on Tuesday, taking a 3-0 win to earn their second win inside the WMC Rivers.
A slow start to the first set for the Pirates didn’t end up costing them as they found their footing to win 25-22. A 25-15 and 25-20 win in the following sets allowed Hart to walk away with a victory in three sets.
Leaders for the Pirates included Reese Smith with 12 kills and 16 digs, Abby Hicks with 12 digs, five aces, two assists, two kills and one block and Alayna Schiller with 26 digs and one kill. Kelsey Copenhaver also tossed in six assists, seven kills, two blocks and six digs.
Hart advanced to a 16-11-3 overall record with the win, improving to 2-3 in conference play. The Pirates will be back in action on Saturday when they travel to Lake City for tournament play.
