HART – Momentum seemed to swing back and forth on Tuesday when Hart downed Ravenna 53-50 in a WMC Rivers meeting.

The Bulldogs got off on the right foot as senior Carter Schullo connected on the game’s first two baskets, netting Ravenna a quick 5-0 lead. Hart regrouped and managed to put together two quarters of complete play that resulted in a 28-23 lead at halftime.

Ravenna made things interesting in the game’s third frame. Schullo (13 points), along with fellow seniors Blake Homoly (18 points) and Wyatt Young (12 points), sparked the Bulldogs to a scoring frenzy. Ravenna outscored Hart 18-12 in that quarter and took a 41-40 lead heading into the final eight minutes.

Hart found their footing once again in the fourth quarter as Caleb Ackley and Kaden Bond took control. Bond scored seven points in that period to lead his team to a narrow win.

The Pirates were led by Bond with 14 points while Blake Weirich chipped in 13 and Ackley had 12.

Hart (3-5, 3-0 WMC Rivers) remained unbeaten in conference play and will now get a few weeks to prepare for a meeting with North Muskegon on Friday, Jan. 5.

Ravenna fell to 2-4 overall and is 1-3 in the conference. The Bulldogs will travel to Grant on Friday to take on the Tigers.
