FLINT – The Muskegon Community College Jayhawk men’s basketball team dropped a 72-57 decision to Schoolcraft on Friday.

The game was the first of two for MCC in the Mott Community College weekend tournament.

Second-chance points for Schoolcraft spelled doom for the Jayhawks, which was plagued by turnovers. MCC trailed 43-32 at the half.

Early in the second half, Schoolcraft built its lead to 16 points until a Jayhawk surge cut the deficit to six points with less than 6 minutes left in the game.

Jacob Mueller and Jadakiss Lewis led the Jayhawks with 12 points each. Tate Stine also reached double figures with 10 points.

The Jayhawks (4-6) take on host Mott CC on Saturday.
