Muskegon Lady Reds take down Kalamazoo Central in girls opener

MUSKEGON – The Muskegon Lady Reds opened the season in grand fashion with a 53-29 victory over Kalamazoo Central.

Jaila Martin led the way with 18 points, including nine in the opening quarter. Camiyah Bonner added 11 points while Mariah Sain had eight points and eight rebounds. Aalliyah Winston added six points.

Muskegon led 14-6 at the first stop and 23-12 at the half. In the second half, the Lady Reds had a 30-17 scoring advantage, including 13-4 in the final eight minutes.
