Former Muskegon Big Red star Cameron Martinez has found his new team after entering the transfer portal.

The former Ohio State Buckeye cornerback is heading to Boston College. The Eagles finished 6-6 in the 2023 season.

Martinez has two years of eligibility remaining. He reportedly chose Boston College over Mississippi State. He also had received some interest from Cincinnati and West Virginia.

Prior to the 2023 season, Martinez had played in 25 games with the Buckeyes. During this past season, Martinez saw action in just three games and had two tackles.

The former four-star recruit was heavily recruited by some major Division 1 program before opting to attend Ohio State.
Martinez spoke with 247Sports recently about his options and his future.

“Really my biggest thing I’m looking for at the next school is the opportunity to kind of show my entire skill set and continue my development,” Martinez said. “I think I developed my all around skill set and there’s some things that also came naturally to me and so that’s led to me wanting to be somewhere I can move around more or play more of a traditional safety, or even go back to the other side of the ball.”

Martinez was a dual-threat quarterback for the Big Reds during his prep career.
