BIG RAPIDS — Consistent scoring all night long helped lead the Pentwater boys basketball team to a dominating 68-32 West Michigan D League win over Big Rapids Crossroads Academy on the road Friday night.

Imposing its will on the Cougars from the outset, Pentwater came close to a shutout in the first period, rolling up a 23-1 start.

The Falcons kept right on rolling, outscoring the Cougars 14-9 in the second period to rumble into the half with a 37-10 lead.

Coming out of the halftime break didn’t cool off the Falcons, who went on to post a 23-13 third quarter and bounded into the fourth period with a 60-23 cushion.

Pentwater was led by Trey Johnson, who scored 17 points and grabbed three rebounds. Jonny Arnouts dished out eight assists and added 11 points.  Abram Kied registered his first double-double of the season with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

Pentwater improved to 5-1 overall, 5-0 in the league and the Falcons and takes some time off for the holidays before returning to the hardwood for another league game hosting Manistee Catholic Central.
