PORT HURON – The Muskegon Community College men’s basketball team had another rough outing on Saturday in the St. Claire New Year tournament.

The Jayhawks (4-9) dropped a 79-65 decision to host St. Claire Community College.

MCC was cold from the field in the opening half and fell behind 44-24 at the half. The Jayhawks shot 30 percent from the field and 10 percent from beyond the 3-point line.

Jacob Mueller, who is working his way back from knee surgery, led MCC with 26 points and 10 rebounds. Jacob May added 10 points and five rebounds.

St. Claire improved its record to 11-3.

The Jayhawks begin conference play at Alpena Community College next Saturday.
