MUSKEGON – The Muskegon girls basketball team used strong scoring in the second half to pull away for a 55-40 OK-Green victory over Reeths-Puffer on Tuesday night.

The Big Reds led 19-17, but shifted into high gear in the second half and outscored the Rockets 36-24.

Mariah Sain poured in 21 points for the Big Reds and Camiyah Bonner scored 11 points. Shamari Hamilton added eight points.

The Rockets’ Brooklyn Tornes went off for 28 points and four rebounds. Irelyn Nicklasch scored six points and grabbed 10 rebounds.

Muskegon (9-4, 7-0) will be at Holland on Friday for more conference action.

Reeths-Puffer (5-8, 4-3) will also see league play as it visits Mona Shores.Â
