RAVENNA – The North Muskegon boys basketball team added to its winning streak on Friday night as it held off a battling Ravenna squad, 60-52, in WMC-Rivers play.

The Norse started with the upper hand as they led 39-26 after the first two quarters but the Bulldogs adjusted and turned up the pressure with a man defense.

With the defensive adjustment from the Bulldogs, the Norse were outscored 13-3 in the third quarter and even had their lead cut to just one point in the fourth quarter.

“We were able to get a few run outs that gave us a little cushion to maintain the final score,” said North Muskegon coach Charles Rypstra. “Credit Ravenna’s tough defense in the third quarter and offensive rebounding all night.”

Adam Dugener led the Norse with 19 points and three assists. Lamarkis Graham poured in 18 points and made five steals, while TJ Byard added 15 points, five rebounds and three assists. Jaxon Lisinski chipped in with six points and three steals.

The Bulldogs’ Carter Schullo put up 19 points and Ryan May scored 11 points.

“It was a good high school game between two good teams,” said Rypstra.

North Muskegon (11-0, 7-0) travels to Wyoming Potter’s House on Tuesday.

Ravenna (7-5, 4-3) will be at Muskegon Catholic on Tuesday.
