Sewell pops in 30 points in Orchard View’s basketball victory over Hesperia

MUSKEGON – The Orchard View boys’ basketball, led by Brian Sewell, defeated Hesperia 57-43 in a non-conference contest on Friday evening.

The game was tied at 9-all after the first quarter, but the Cardinals began to exploit weaknesses and pulled ahead 28-19 at halftime. The Cardinals carried that momentum into the second half and earned the victory.

Sewell went off for 30 points and five rebounds. Stephon Oaks scored eight points and pulled down 20 rebounds.

The Panters’ Ian Fox and Nicholas Guarnieri each scored nine points. Ethan O’Neil chipped in 16 rebounds.

Orchard View (4-10, 1-5) plays at Montague next Friday in league action.

Hesperia (6-8, 3-4) will be at home against Howard City Tri-County on Tuesday.
