MUSKEGON – The area will be well represented at the Division 4 bowling state finals after regional competition on Thursday.

The boys and girls from Holton and Ravenna finished first and second in Thursday’s regional at Northway Lanes. In the boys’ division, Holton finished first and Ravenna second. For the girls, Ravenna was first and Holton second.

The singles portion of the regional event will be staged Friday at Northway Lanes.

All four teams will be heading to the state finals, which will be back at Northway Lanes in Muskegon next Friday and Saturday.

On Thursday, each team rolled eight baker games and two team games to make up their total for the day.

In the boys’ event, Holton had a high baker game of 203 and team games of 861 and 831. The Red Devils’ team total was 3,072.

Runner-up Ravenna had a high baker game of 192 and team games of 901 and 808. The Bulldogs’ team total was 2,984.

Mason County Eastern finished fourth with a team score of 2,430. That included a high baker game of 144 and team scores of 703-695.

The boys from Western Michigan Christian came in fifth at 2,211. The high baker game was 149 and the team games were 642-685.

The girls from Ravenna posted a total pinfall of 2,691 with its eight baker games and two team games. The Bulldogs’ high baker game was 180. Their team games were 695 and 771. 

Holton finished with a total pinfall of 2,601. That included a high baker game of 163 and team games of 752 and 736.

Mason County Eastern’s girls finished fourth at 2,105. The Cardinals rolled a high baker game of 146 and had team scores of 581 and 556.

Western Michigan Christian came in ninth at 986. The high baker game was 71 and team scores were 315 and 242.
