FREMONT — Fremont girls basketball team secured at least a share of the West Michigan Conference Lakes Division Friday night with an 82-54 victory over visiting Manistee.

“We played with great energy and had everyone contribute and play big minutes,” said Fremont coach Pete Zerfas.

Fremont opened a 48-23 lead at the half and continued to shoot well in the second half.

Jessica Bennett had a big game for the Packers with 19 points, seven rebounds and seven blocks. Riley Chase knocked down four triples and 15 points and came away with six steals.

Taylor DeKuiper added 13 points, eight steals and eight rebounds. Mia Clemence contributed 12 points with four triples and eight assists. Olivia Hansen ripped down 14 rebounds.

DeKuiper set the all-time single season steals with 111 to break the previous mark of 109 held by Bre (Harris) Vanvleet.

Fremont improved to 16-4 overall and 11-0 in the conference. The Packers host Ludington Tuesday in the final conference game of the season.
