FREMONT – The Grant boys basketball team, led by a 23-point performance from Oakley Obenauf, claimed a 68-65 victory over Fremont on Monday.

The Packers led 13-9 after the first quarter and 35-32 at halftime. Out of the break, the Packers continued to maintain the advantage as they outscored the Tigers 21-13 in the third quarter to push their lead to 56-45.

Down but not out, the Tigers rallied and outscored the Packers 23-9 in the final quarter to escape with the victory.

Sincere Hatch scored 16 points for the Tigers, while Lucas Swanson and Ethan DeLong added eight points apiece. 

The Packers’ Chaz Miller, who went down with an ankle sprain, led the way with 17 points, five steals and four assists. Will DeBlake posted a double-double of 12 points and 13 rebounds. 

Grant (9-4, 5-1) will host Howard City Tri County on Tuesday for CSAA play.

Fremont (7-10, 3-5) will be at home against Ravenna on Friday.
