Newaygo advances in CSAA tournament with victory over Chippewa Hills

NEWAYGO – The Newaygo boys basketball team opened the CSAA tournament and topped Chippewa Hills, 58-48, in a back-and-forth game on Monday evening.

Blake Kerr led the Lions’ attack with 16 points and Josiah Long added 15 points. Logan Klomp added eight points and seven assists, while Caris Nelson had eight points and five assists.

Newaygo advances to the next round with its 13-8 record, 7-4 in the league.
