White Cloud eliminated by Big Rapids in opening round of CSAA tournament

BIG RAPIDS – The White Cloud boys basketball team took a tough overtime loss to Big Rapids, 53-48, in the opening round of the CSAA tournament on Monday night.

“We battled our butts off, but couldn’t hold the lead in the last three minutes of regulation,” said White Cloud coach Bob Jones. “In overtime we got outscored by five points.”

KJ Strait led White Cloud with a team-high 12 points and Jared Watson chipped in 11 points. Noah Robinson added 10 points and Jayson Ruether scored nine points.

White Cloud (16-5, 8-3) will host Grant on Wednesday.
