Shelby’s defense smothers Orchard View, produces 41-23 victory

SHELBY – The Shelby girls basketball team blew by visiting Orchard View, 41-23, on Thursday evening to wrap up the regular season.

The Tigers’ defense set the pace as they limited the Cardinals to just four first-half points. Shelby led 25-4 at the half.

Molli Schultz led all scorers with 17 points. Kendall Zaverl added 15 points, seven rebounds and six assists. Biloxi Lee pulled down seven rebounds.

Shelby (6-16, 3-9) will host White Cloud on Monday to open the Division 3 district tournament.
