NEWAYGO – The Newaygo girls basketball team topped Lakeview, 47-37, to cap off the regular season on a strong note on Thursday night.

“Solid win for the girls tonight. We came out really well in the first quarter,” said Newaygo coach Nathan Thomasma. “We shot much better from the line and we were able to hit some outside shots.” 

Amaya Lathrop led with 13 points, five steals and four blocks. Addison Goodin scored seven points, grabbed nine rebounds and made four steals.

Newaygo (12-10, 4-6) will be at home on Monday to face Sparta in the first round of the Division 2 district tournament.
