TRAVERSE CITY — Ludington failed to convert on some good chances yet again and dropped its second consecutive girls’ soccer game, 2-0, Thursday night in non-conference action at Traverse City West.

Although the Orioles didn’t run into any rain, it was still cold.

It dropped the Orioles’ early-season record to 0-2, but Coach Kris Anderson came away with a good feeling about the Orioles’ performance considering they haven’t had much practice.

“I’m very encouraged as far as the way we are playing,” said Anderson. “Traverse City West is a solid team, possess the ball well, move the ball around.

“We were very stingy defensively. We just had about a three-minute bad stretch in the first half. We made a bad mark and they scored their first goal, and we didn’t rally and react well, and they scored their second about two minutes later:”

Ludington trailed 2-0 at the half, but played the Titans to a 0-0 tie in the second half.

The Orioles had two good free kicks just outside the 18 toward the end of the game. Maddy Billings took a shot on one that unfortunately was right at the goalkeeper, and another sailed just a little bit wide.

Cambria Britton had another solid game in goal for the Orioles, making several saves.
