The Reeths-Puffer softball squad won a pair of tight games in a doubleheader on Thursday against Oakridge in non-league play.

The Rockets won the opener 6-5 and outlasted Oakridge 14-13 in the second contest.

Pitcher Lainey McDaniel earned the victory for Reeths-Puffer in Game 1, allowing three runs while striking out 13 batters.

The Rockets had 11 hits as a team, led by Mady Snyder, Megan Barnes and McDaniel with two hits apiece.

Reeths-Puffer overcame a 13-4 deficit, scoring five runs in both the sixth and seventh innings.

Snyder pitched six innings, allowing five earned runs while striking out four batters. McDaniel closed out the game with two strikeouts.

The Rockets had 19 hits as a team, led by Snyder, Tessa Ross, Abbie Critchett, McDaniel and Kyleigh Bilek with three hits each.
