FREMONT – The Fruitport Trojans battled back from a two-goal halftime deficit and forged a 2-all tie in non-league soccer action on Monday.

The Packers led 2-0 at halftime but the Trojans gained the momentum in the second half and fought back for the tie.

The Trojans outshot the Packers, 19-5.

Maddie Mater and McKenna Scott scored the Packers’ goals, while Mia Clemence added the assists.

The Trojans’ Izabel Hanson-Wilbur had a goal and an assist and Mallory Smith tallied a goal.

Fremont (10-1-1, 7-1) will be at North Muskegon on Wednesday for West Michigan Conference action.

Fruitport (4-7-2, 0-6-1) is set to host Western Michigan Christian on Wednesday.
