MUSKEGON–A strong first half performance for Reeths-Puffer pushed them to a conference win over the Holland Dutch, 52-43 on Friday.
Reeths-Puffer controlled the first quarter and second quarter leading 11-8 at the end of one and 31-23 at halftime. The Rockets cruised to the finish line with a third quarter lead, 39-30.
Whitaker finished with a game-high 19 points and pulled down five rebounds. Travis Ambrose tallied 14 points, 11 boards, and two blocks. Logan Brooks added eight points on the evening.
Coby Mitchelson provided a strong defensive effort by taking two charges.
Holland’s leading scorers was Jackson VanHekken with 17 points. Isaiah Arredonado scored 15 on the night.
Reeths-Puffer climbs to 12-5 and 9-3 in the O-K Green to remain in second place. They will host first place Muskegon next Tuesday.
The Dutch fall to 2-10 in conference and 4-13 overall. Holland will host Mona Shores next Tuesday.
