NORTON SHORES – The Mona Shores girls lacrosse team had a heartbreaking Senior Night on Friday evening.

The Sailors fell to Grand Haven in overtime, 11-10.

“I have five seniors (Jessica Eenigenburg, Ashlee Jakubowski, Kyra Tyler, Allison Fritz and Koryn Holman) that have been with me since I started four years ago and I wanted this night to be a little more special for them,” said coach Chip Vasquez.

“It just wasn’t in the cards.”

Kennedy Hynde led with four goals, four draw controls and four ground balls.

Lainee Nelson netted a pair of goals while Lauren Nelson, Allison Fritz, Emma Reelman and Reese Smith each added a single score.

Mona Shores (5-9, 3-4) will hit the road on Wednesday to face Zeeland East.
