The Muskegon Lumberjacks were worried about having enough offense over the next few games, especially since they are playing without leading scorer Rem Pitlick.
But that wasn’t a problem on Friday, since the jacks outshot host Sioux Falls 39-23.
Unfortunately for Muskegon, none of those shots got past the goalie and the Jacks ended up on the short end of a 3-0 score at the Denny Sanford Premier Center in Sioux Falls, North Dakota.
The two teams will have a rematch on Saturday night.
The Lumberjacks are now 10-9-1 on the season, good for 21 points and seventh place in the USHL’s Eastern Conference.
Sioux Falls’ Park Tuomie opened the scoring with a power play goal at the 7:19 mark of the first period.
The Stampede took a 2-0 lead with a goal from Jack Suter at the 1:10 mark of the second period.
Eric MacAdams closed out the scoring for the Stampede with a goal 6:16 into the third period.
