The Orchard View boys basketball team took advantage of a fast start to defeat Western Michigan Christian 56-46 on Friday in a Lakes 8 games.
The Cardinals jumped out to a 16-11 lead after the first quarter and added to their advantage during the second to have a 30-21 halftime lead.
The Warriors chipped into the lead during the third, trailing by just five points heading into the fourth.
The Cardinals closed the game with an 18-13 run during the final stanza.
Jaylin Briggs led Orchard View with 13 points while Brady Bowen chipped in with 10 of his own.
LUDINGTON 60, MUSKEGON CATHOLIC CENTRAL 41 – Josh Laman led the Orioles with 20 points. Ludington (11-5, 8-1) led 34-27 at the end of the third quarter, before a 26-point fourth quarter sealed the victory. The Crusaders were paced by Jared Dugener with 18 points.
SPRING LAKE 67, COMSTOCK PARK 33 – The Lakers led 29-18 at halftime. Sam Johnson paced Spring Lake with 15 points while Jack Vanwingen added 14. The Lakers are 14-4 overall 8-3 in the OK Blue Conference action.
KENOWA HILLS 65, MONA SHORES 63 – James Gilbert led the Sailors with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The two teams were tied at 28-28 at halftime and the game remained close until the final moments of the contest. Cam Eigenauer added 15 points and eight rebounds for Mona Shores.
